![]() It’s currently unclear if this feature is only for a single console family (e.g., PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5) or if it extends across all platforms. This new cross-progression system allows players to dip their toe into the wider world of Valhalla before upgrading to a next-gen console - either at launch, this holiday, or further down the line - and maintain their progress when they do. Many of Ubisoft’s games are comically long, especially the recent Assassin’s Creed titles. “It is also a time of transition to a next generation of consoles, and thanks to Ubisoft Connect our players will have access to cross-progression across devices in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising and Riders Republic, and we intend to support crossplay and cross-progression as standard in as many future titles as possible,” said Stephanie Perotti, vice president of online services at Ubisoft, in an interview with the Ubisoft blog. Ubisoft Connect will allow players to take save files from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and Riders Republic - as well as future Ubisoft games - on one platform and transfer them to another device. While Ubisoft Connect will include Uplay’s usual reward structure, its biggest addition is that of cross-progression. 29, and will be available on both next-gen consoles at or shortly after launch. The new platform will launch alongside Watch Dogs: Legion on Oct. On Wednesday, Ubisoft announced the death and rebirth of its Uplay and Ubisoft Club platforms as Ubisoft Connect. This means players will be able to move their saves around instead of restarting from the beginning if they change to a different platform. If your computer detects either while playing the game, it’ll try to switch in between the controller and mouse/keyboard.Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and other upcoming Ubisoft titles will support cross-platform progression at launch, thanks to the new Ubisoft Connect platform, the company announced this week. Should be USB B (controller plugin) to USB C (port on computer)Īnother possible issue is your connected mouse/keyboard. If using a USB B to USB, this may be your issue. Otherwise, are you using a USB type B to USB? Or, where you plug into your computer, is it a USB type C port? USB type C is needed for most controller configurations because it has the best data transfer out of its other sister forms. Go through the prompts and hopefully this should be fixed. To do so, click “steam” (top left of steams main interface) > settings > controller > general controller settings > (under detected controllers, hit your preferred controller) “Nintendo Switch Pro controller > calibrate. With that said, I did have to recalibrate it when I first started with steam. I have experienced controller drift on steam where on Switch it is non-existent. ![]() I hope this helps others break away from Ubisofts faulty game launchers, and enjoy the game however you’d like. They want you to play on their buggy platforms while not supporting half the controllers on the market. Ubisoft support had no answers, and said it wasn’t possible. I spent a couple hours googling this issue with no luck. Now open “games” and it should be there as “Assassins Creed Valhalla” click that and scroll down to the application “AC_Valhalla” (or if you have one of the bundles, click that)Īnd bingo, you can now play the game through steam and use your Nintendo Switch Controller (or any other non-compatible controllers) It’ll bring you to Ubisoft Game Launcher files, open that. Mine is “Acer (C:)” From there, select “program files” and scroll to find “Ubisoft” and click. You need to go to your steam library and at the top left, hit the option “games” where there’s an option in the drop down menu “Add a Non-Steam Game to my Library”įrom there, you’ll need to select “browse” and go down to Local memory. (This will work with any other non-supported controllers as long as Steam supports them) While Ubisoft Connect does not support Nintendo Switch Pro controllers, Steam does (cause steam is obviously the better choice, fuck you Ubisoft) Well, I figured it out if anyone else discovers this issue in the future. ![]() Not only would this mean I’d have to buy another controller to even play the game, I’d have to learn new control layouts. Upon learning Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games do not have compatibility for Nintendo Pro Controllers, I was livid.
